Abstract
The Make a Match type cooperative learning method requires students to find pairs of question and answer cards made by the teacher with a predetermined time limit to complete it cooperatively. This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning method type make a match on the ability to understand the concept of social studies of grade v students at SDN Adiarsa Timur 1. This research is a type of quantitative approach with the Quasi Experiment method or pseudo experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The population used in this study were grade I - VI SDN Adiarsa Timur 1 as many as 627 students. The research data collection technique was Simple Random Sampling. Technical data analysis to test the hypothesis is done by statistical calculation of probability moment correlation. The results of hypothesis testing, there is a significant difference between classes that learn using the cooperative learning method type make a match and classes that learn without the cooperative learning method type make a match. It is obtained rcount of 3.351> rtable of 0.444 with a significance of 0.05 and n = 40 that H0 is rejected, H1 is accepted. This means that it can be concluded that there is an effect of cooperative learning methods of making a match type on the understanding of social studies concepts of fifth grade students at SDN Adiarsa Timur 1.
