Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effect of Self-Concept and Mathematical Anxiety on Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Elementary School Students. This type of research uses a survey study approach to fifth grade students at SDN in Cluster II, Jayakerta District, Karawang Regency, Academic Year 2022/2023. With a population of 215 students and the number of samples in this study was 25% of the total population in the study, namely 54 students. The sample in this study used simple random sampling. Self-concept data collection techniques and Mathematical anxiety using a questionnaire in the form of a Likert Scale, and Mathematics Learning Outcomes in the form of a written test in the form of an Essay. The results showed that: (1) There was no effect between self-concept on mathematics learning outcomes as indicated by a tcount of 1.172 < ttable = 1.674 and a significance of 0.247 > 0.05; (2) There is an influence between mathematical anxiety on mathematics learning outcomes, where the tcount is -2.125 > ttable = 1.674 and a significance of 0.038 <0.05; (3)There is no effect of self-concept and mathematical anxiety together on mathematics learning outcomes, where the value of Fcount is2.322 < Ftable 3.18 and a significance of 0.108 > 0.05. The contribution of self-concept and mathematical anxiety together to the learning outcomes of mathematics is 8.3% and the remaining 91.7% is influenced by other factors.
