Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out the thoughts of Imam al-Ghozali and John Dewey regarding children's education and to find out how to educate children which are included in the thoughts of Imam al-Ghozali and John Dewey. Based on the research, conclusions can be drawn, namely: first, the concept of Children's Education according to Imam al-Ghozali: Education is an absolute requirement for the success of a child's education process. And the concept of children's education according to John Dewey is: schools which are usually called Progressivism place more emphasis on students. From this, the meaning of child centered curriculum and child centered schools emerged. secondly, the method of testing philosophical thinking becomes a living fact, a kind of better life to be led. The following are special methods of education according to al-Ghazali: 1). Special Methodology for Religious Education. 2). Special Methodology for Moral Education. third, in the education of the children of Imam al-Ghazali and John Dewey using the concept of pragmatism and behavior. The method used in conducting this research is to use a qualitative method, namely systematically applying the concept of children's education according to Imam al Ghojali and John Dewey. To obtain a comprehensive picture, the concept of children's education is used. The technique used in this research is library research.
